When Love Came to Town.

Gill popped over from London to stay with us for the weekend. And what a whirlwind of a weekend it was. Beer a plenty was drunk, bike riding fears were conquered and little hearts were broken. We found Oli crying his little eyes out in bed last night after Gill left. This in turn triggered another 'I want to go back to Sydney' tear fest. Hopefully, celebrating the double whammy of Easter and a certain birthday next weekend will help ease some of that pain.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: never underestimate the power of cake. Never ever.

Spring.

"April hath put a spirit of youth in everything" - Shakespeare.

Our first weekend back in town. We had the most amazing month in Sydney (will post pics soon. watch this space.) and saying goodbye to the city proved more difficult this time around. Oli informed us many times throughout our trip that he wouldn't be coming back to Munich and then proceeded to cry on and off the whole way home. Alas, spring has well and truly sprung here and we definitely made the most of it over the past few days. Fun times spent playing in the sandpit, drinking prosecco with neighbours (hello Mani!), a BBQ in Heather's amazing garden and the first beer of the season at our local biergarten, the Flaucher, with friends. Unfortunately it seemed to have misplaced its playground. Not the ideal situtation for Oli but for Elke it was heaven - one huge sand pit, perfect for collecting rocks and dirt.

We're gearing up to enjoy what could be one of our last summers here. Let's just hope the weather gods can bring it to the table this year.

Happy Circus.

1 more sleep until we say auf wiedersehen Munch-town and not a moment too soon. In the last 48 hours we have had conjunctivits (Elke), cold & cough (Elke and I), stomach bug (Ola) and borderline ear infection resulting in antibiotics (Elke. Again). Perhaps a sign that we shouldn't leave? Or that we should leave and never return? Fingers crossed for a return to health before we board that jetplane.

Thank you sweet Nell for the gorgeous garland which has brought some pop-pom cheeriness to this poorly household. This is its temporary home until we return from Oz and have a bit more time to put it in its perfect place. And what timing too. It arrived today. Yeehah.

Ski Skool.

Another year, another stint at ski school in Lenggries. As much as he enjoyed whooshing down those slopes this week, it's the sun, sand and surf he aches for. And while we're on the topic of Sydney, any last requests before we leave? Anyone?

Day in the Life.

Exploring, posing, playing and chilling. It's starting to feel a little like Groundhog Day around these parts (with intermittent eating, screaming, dancing, hiding of objects under couch).

2 weeks, 4 days and 1 hour until we're all leaving on a jetplane and heading home. Whose tummy is tickling now?

Reet Petite.

Saturday morning was spent chanting some at a Sankalpa Meditation workshop where I resolved to get my colitis under control, then dancing until 2am at Heather's amazing house (paging Paumes) to celebrate her very special birthday. We capped it off on the Sunday with a delicious ayurveda lunch at Dexter's (Oliver's bestest bud. Or as Dexter calls Oli, "my super best friend in the whole world"). Oli was so excited he turns to me on the way there and says "mummy, my tummy is all tickly". Btw, that bowl up there was our dessert - Shrikhand, pure yumminess.
As I type, Oli is sitting on a bus with his kindy friends on the way to Ski School (while his little sister is sitting at his desk, munching on his glue stick). Have fun little dude!

Sweet Sunshine.

Some more fun in the sun. Tea on the terrace and afternoon ice-creams with the swans at the Isar. The perfect end to an awesome weekend.
