New Year's Eve - spent eating raclette with neighbours and letting off fireworks. These photos were taken in our street. Dontcha love the smell of fireworks in the evening?! Sydney may have their multi-million dollar Harbour Bridge fireworks spectacular but we have our dodgy rockets and jumping frogs. (The fact that they were our fireworks and we could buy them at the local supermarket made it that much more exciting. Retro even.) And neighbours who can put on a pretty amazing pyrotechnics display of their own. Even if the sources are questionable. David had a go and let off a few rockets. He didn't let the fact that half of them ended up landing on our neighbours' balconies dampen his spirits. After a couple of rough starts, he assures me he has his technique down pat. Sorted. Just in time for next year. Ahh, Guy Fawkes would be so proud.
Happy New Year!

Ps We'll be celebrating La Befana tomorrow. Why stop now with the presents?

Good work with the fireworks. Sod health and safety right? Well, that's always Ben's motto where fireworks are concerned! We got takeaway, played board games and mooched around our flat with some friends on New Year's Eve. Full on party animals.
Happy New Year Bianca! I hope the year brings many awesome things for you and yours. xx
Happy New Year! Wow you guys were brave, we hid inside with our sniffly baby and watched flaming things being thrown off balconies all over the place. I hope 2011 is filled with joy for you and family.
