Return to Schliersee.

After finally scoring a spot in the MunichRe apartments at Schliersee (that place can be booked out for up to 5 months at a time), Elke comes down with a fever. By Sunday morning things were looking up in the health department, so we decided to head out there for a day trip instead. With our neighbours Ina, Andreas and little Lina in tow we jumped on the train and headed to the lake town. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty dismal. As swimming was not on the cards we caught the cable-car up to the top of one of the mountains. And boy was ít worth it. Hello pool, trampolines, putt-putt and awesome roller coaster ride thing (see 5th photo). Oli was in his element. Oh and the view wasn't bad either.
To get back down the mountain there was the choice of either the cable car or a tobaggan run (think Jamberoo). Just our luck it rained not long before we decided to call it a day and therefore the run was closed. David is still so very, very bitter.

Ain't no sunshine...

Today it has rained all day. It hasn't stopped raining for a second. Not one. It feels horribly similiar to a winter's day in Sydney. However, this ain't Sydney and it ain't winter. We're supposed to be going away this afternoon to a nearby lake for the weekend. However, between mother nature and Elke's cold (note last photo) it just wasn't going to happen. Fingers crossed the sun will come out tomorrow and the little miss is back to her happy, healthy self.

What I need to see on a day like this is colour. Stacks of it. Hence the snaps. I just wish the light was better.

See, not a good day.

Blumen marvelous.

I came across the most beautiful flowers while out and about today and couldn't resist taking a few snaps. It is August after all, these babies won't be out for much longer. Even if it meant getting glared out by an old German lady on her balcony...but then being glared at by old, German ladies is just another day at the office for me. Though usually it's accompanied by a few clicks of the tongue and a headshake. Or if I'm really lucky my mothering skills (or lackoff apparently) may be called into question. No such luck today. I will just have to settle for the glare.

Showcasing the mullet.

After numerous cries for help (requests for haircut) went unanswered, a certain little someone decided it was time to take matters into his own hands. Desperate times call for drastic measures. 'Drastic' being taking scissors to scalp and cutting like a madman...on a Sunday...in a city where hairdressers are very often closed on Sundays. Oh and on Mondays. Luckily one of Oli's mate's mum is a hairdresser and could swing by the following day for some Hair Rescue 101. By the way, it doesn't look like a mullet. It is a mullet.

Evel Knievel?

''Ok, Oli. Are you sure you want to do this?'' - Cicks.
''I can totally nail this.'' - Oliver
''Ummm...next time Gadget. Next time.'' - Both.
