The following two pics illustrate how a tired Elke can go from this:

to this:

within minutes.

Skylarking on a Saturday at the Pinakothek der Moderne - the biggest modern art museum in Germany. There are four focus areas within the museum: art, architecture, design and graphics. The perfect combination. Even the bookshop was excellent, though admittedly quite dangerous! David was particularly taken with the display of vintage vehicle design, whereas the works of German artists Max Beckmann and August Macke were the highlight for me. We were both partial to the extensive collection of furniture design. (Hello Eames, Strinning, Breuer, Colani!). Oli thought the old Mac computers 'from my day' were pretty funny. Which made me feel, um, old. I even had to explain the workings of the rotary dial telephones. Again, old.

If anyone is in town between April and July, this exhibition would be worth a look.

Have a crackin' week.

xxx

Note: Just to clear up any misunderstanding, the first pic was taken outside of the Museum Brandhorst. Just down the road. The colourful facade always makes for some fun photos!

Hi Tanya - the boots are Camper from last year (or the year before. Eek, can't remember!). I've heard Rachel Comey's name pop up here and there lately so I may just have to check her out. xx

Hahaha! Coco often lies down in public places. Just drops to the floor. The best was when we went to Canberra and did a tour of Parliament House and we turned and saw Coco lying across the steps in the main hall. Otto and I were in hysterics which didn't help the situation at all. We should have played it cool like you and Oli are doing.
Oh these gorgeous funny lying down ladies xx
ps. The museum looks and sounds amaze.
